S03 E13: African American Genealogy: Researching Slavery-Disrupted Family Trees with Melvin Collier

In this episode, Melvin Collier – the author, genealogist, and founder of the popular Roots Revealed website (https://rootsrevealed.com/author/melvinjcollier228596363) – joined us to discuss researching slavery-disrupted family trees. We also chatted about why black genealogical research is an important part of documenting American history by bringing our enslaved ancestors’ stories to light.

As always, we drop some knowledge about research strategies and sources of research information.
