S04 E04 Working with DNA Matches with Blaine T. Bettinger

Award-winning author and instructor Blaine T. Bettinger joined us on the show to talk about working with DNA matches in genealogical research. Working with DNA – and DNA matches in particular – can be a daunting prospect.

This is especially true for researchers who are new to DNA testing and working with their DNA results. Even seasoned researchers can get thrown by seemingly random DNA matches!

We also spent some time discussing false positive DNA matches as well as the recent changes Ancestry has made to its DNA matching threshold.
